The film industry as a whole has lost sight of why we make films. The idea that every film has to be squeezed of every drop of profit to be worthwhile is the opposite of what should be pure creative expression, and is worse in the animation industry since the artists have no protection from money grabbing CEO’s and shareholders.
Aside from the issue of money there is a problem of board room producers trying to be creative by committee, leading to soulless copy pastes and ignores creative vision that can lead to really great films that stand the test of time. I hope this documentary sheds light on these issues and can contribute to a better ethic in the film industry.
